Copper Power Parasite Treatment
Copper Power Saltwater Parasite Treatment is one of the safest and most effective copper solutions for eliminating common external parasites, including ich, velvet, and other protozoan infestations. Trusted by aquarists for its reliability and ease of use, Copper Power features a chelated copper formula that remains stable in marine environments, ensuring long-lasting, consistent treatment without rapid breakdown. Unlike many copper-based medications, it maintains therapeutic levels with minimal monitoring, making it ideal for both beginner and advanced hobbyists.
Note: Copper Power is not recommended for use with invertebrates or reef aquariums.
Features
- Highly effective against ich, oodinium, velvet & external parasites
- Stable & low precipitation rate keeps copper from turning toxic
- Can be maintained at higher concentrations of up to 2.5 ppm copper
- Will not be removed by carbon filtration & will not cloud the water
Due to Copper Power’s very low rate of precipitation, it helps maintain therapeutic levels longer without adding more Copper Power. One application remains active in the water for months and helps prevent new outbreaks.
Always test copper levels regularly to ensure proper dosing and avoid overdosing. We recommend testing copper levels with the Hannah High Range Copper Checker HI702.
Recommended Treatment
Treating at the maximum concentration of 2.5 ppm is not required, but maintaining a minimum copper level of 1.5 ppm is essential for the treatment to be effective. A starting range of 1.5 to 2.0 ppm is recommended for most treatment protocols. To ensure the safest and least stressful experience for your fish, it’s best to gradually increase copper levels over several days.
- 0.89 mL per gallon = 1.5 ppm
- 1.18 mL per gallon = 2.0 ppm
- 1.475 mL per gallon = 2.5 ppm
